Granted it’s not as much as advertised, but that lavie be the fault of either the disk, the card, or the driver used. Just be aware if you’ve never used USB 3. I talked with LaCie about this and they indicated it’s a firmware issue but didn’t explain if it was in the 2Big drive or this device. Not the fault of the card but of the OSX. This device worked great for me when used with Mobdin’s patched LaCie driver to enable use on non-LaCie drives.
Definitely the worth the investment. No Longer Available Update Location close. Please consult the LaCie website for information on which Mac laptops are compatible. LaCie has a fast, easy-to-install solution if you want to upgrade your laptop or notebook for use with USB 3.

At least the express card connects to any SATA device. All-in-all definitely worth the cash for the significant boost in speed!
